Oregon civil rights agency’s former leader files $2.3M discrimination lawsuit: report



A Black female lawyer who was hired in 2019 to lead the state of Oregon’s civil rights agency has filed a $2.3 million lawsuit, claiming White subordinates dismissed her expertise and declined to follow her directives, according to a report.

SHOCK and confusion as Murang’a man digs own grave and writes eulogy (PHOTOs)

Tuesday, January 12, 2021  – An elderly man who hails from Kiharu in Murang’a County has left tongues wagging after he dug his own grave and wrote his eulogy. Samuel Karanja said he has planned his burial early enough so that when he dies, his family will not have to beg for money to aid in burial preparations. Karanja has named his final resting place “Kumenya’’ which loosely translates to “knowing’’. The words are plastered on his graveyard in white. “I do not want to bother people at my funeral, most people bother people with their demise but that will not be me”  he said. Karanja said he has left clear instructions on how he will be buried. He has instructed his family not to put a cross and flowers on his grave. His body should also not be covered with soil. Monday, 25 January 2021  – Deceased Mugithi singer, Mighty Salim, died a lonely man after close friends and politicians who loved to be associated with him before he fell sick abandoned him. Speaking in a past interview with a local publication, Mighty Salim disclosed that one of the popular members of Parliament from Central Kenya gave him a fake cheque worth Ksh 50,000. He had approached the MP seeking financial help to settle his medical bills.
