Dem Rep Garamendi spins Taliban takeover, says seized US weaponry was 'property of the Afghan government'



Rep. John Garamendi, D-Calif., attempted to spin reports of Taliban militants showing off their newly acquired U.S. weaponry, arguing that the equipment was actually "property of the Afghan government" when it was seized during the Taliban’s takeover of the country.

Friday, March 19, 2021  – Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga returned to the Nairobi Hospital a few days after being discharged and directed to isolate at home.  According to inside sources, Raila checked in at the hospital on Thursday, March 18 after scheduling an appointment with his doctors.  “His doctors wanted to see him.” “He was attended to and allowed to go home and continue with the self-isolation,” said the source. This is after the Controller of Budget (COB) Margaret Nyakang’o wrote a letter to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) CEO Anne Gitau and sought to stop the implementation of the car grant before a few fundamental issues were resolved. In the letter, Nyakang’o stated that most counties budgeted for a car loan facility and not a grant. She highlighted that this is implemented through legislation that is enacted to create a revolving fund. But the legislation does not provide for the issuance of a car grant.
